Technical Notes
Welcome! There are a few things we would like you to know about the design of our site. Please take a moment to read through these notes and, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our webmaster! It is our intent to make the content on our site as interactive and technically accessible as possible.

This web site was designed for the most recent versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. We take great pains to design pages that will download in 30 seconds or less over a 28.8 dial-up connection. In order to provide you with the most interactivity possible with the shortest download time, we utilize JavaScript, Macromedia Flash, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.

In order for you to interact fully with our pages, you must have JavaScript enabled on your computer. For many of you, this is probably done; however, some schools have been known to disable the use of JavaScript for security purposes. Please check with your computer administrator if you are unsure.

There are several Flash programs on the site. They are used for many purposes ... from flashy introductions (pardon the pun) to interactive lesson activities. In order for you to view and interact with these programs, you will need to have Flash Player installed on your computer. This player is free and is available by clicking the icon below.

Finally, when a reproducible or student activity sheet is in order, we have provided it. For ease of printing, we have selected Adobe Acrobat products to prepare these materials for you. In order to read and print these downloadable pages, you will need Acrobat Reader (we suggest a version greater than 3.0). This reader is free and is available by clicking the icon below.
